I went from an old style backpack external frame from my boy scout years to this and love every minute of it. It can be adjusted on the fly to conform to the terrain you are hiking on.
Has plenty of room for those long trips or overnighters. It has the water bladder space for the camel back bladders.
Only thing I wish it had was thicker straps because the fine woven straps will slip every once in a while and let it slide loose. I have fixed this by double looping the strap through the rings.
I would recommend to anyone that is a big guy 6'4" 250lbs+. Fits great and is made for the bigger framed persons. Smaller people stay away as it isn't made for that. Sierra has different sized packs for different sized people.
