This works great as a regular hammock, but my family is loving it as a swing. We connect it to our swingset using the attached clips, in the same way that you would connect a regular swing (one clip on each hook on the swingset bar so that the clips are not on the same hook). Lay down in the hammock across the width of the hammock instead of the length like you normally do in a hammock, and now you have a wonderful, comfortable, fun swing. The double nest width is perfect for full body support when laying this way. We don't swing it very high, just a gentle little push. It ends up pretty low to the ground, so my three year old can crawl in by himself. Use common sense and never leave your kids alone with the hammock. We take it down when we are done.
